Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
I want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated to my birthday giving campaign for charity:water. I have reached my goal of $1,000 and I truly appreciate your generosity. As a result of your donations 33 people will receive access to clean water.
When I had the idea to donate my birthday to a charity, I initially had a lot of doubt and fear. Would people donate? What if I didn't reach my goal? What if, what if, what if. Then I remembered 2 Tim 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. I also realized that any amount I was able to raise would help the charity with their mission so I forged ahead and sent emails, texts, and made phone calls.
I urge you to find a cause you believe in this year and give back. Charities do need monetary donations, but many also need manpower and time. Find a cause close to your heart that you believe in and volunteer. Giving back gives you the opportunity to see past yourself and make a positive impact, whether it be locally or internationally. Thank you!
