Hi friends!

I've decided that as I turn 21 this year, I will do something special to help the poor, needy and thirsty in the world. I am glad to have September project campaign as a platform that provides clean water to those who are living on dirty water in Ethiopia which I can ride on to do this special thing.

I actually came to know about this project few years ago and thought that it was pretty cool because it's a SEPTEMBER project (exclusive to September babies only, heehee. but now it has expanded to all) whereby September babies give up their birthday gifts in replacement to collect donation, usually at the amount of $(their age). However, I didn't have the courage to do so then and simply brush it aside. Ever since then I totally forgot about it.

Only recently, it suddenly popped into my head again. I sense that God wants me to do this now and gave me a word from Acts 20:35 - Paul said to remember the weak and remember the words of Jesus, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

And so, I am asking as a birthday gift for my 21st, which marks my entrance into adulthood, to support my campaign and donate a preferred amount of US$21 (it will be about S$25 because it is an US organization) in replacement of birthday gifts. I know many of you guys are students and are not working (like me, so I totally understand) so you guys can find a friend or two to make it US$21 or simply donate any amount that you think is the best that you can give.

I am really grateful to be in Singapore where we can drink water straight from our taps, and hope that these people can experience the same too. Really appreciate your efforts and this really means a lot to me and the people who will be getting the water! :)

Day #1 - Raised $370!
Day #2 - Raised $724, increased goal from $1000 to $2000!
Week #1 - Raised $1133 + generous donor will be matching my collection, so Ethiopia people get twice the amount!
Week #2 - Raised $3214 + two anonymous donors gave $1000 each! increased goal from $2000 to $4000!
Week #4 - Anonymous donor gave $390! + Raised $3819
Week #5 - Another anonymous donor gave $1090 so a total of $5000 has been raised! Shall leave my goal as it is to not place any limits.
