Hi everyone! This year is my 29th year on earth. And for 28 of those years, I've received gifts from family and friends on my birthday.

This year, I don't want more things. I want to DO something.

I recently had the pleasure of hearing charity: water CEO Scott Harrison speak at an event in New York City. He shared his amazing story, and the very real and dire stories of people in places that don't have access to clean, safe drinking water.

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. 1,400 kids every day. I saw some of their faces.

Sitting there in the audience, with my huge bottle of crystal clear Smartwater in my bag, I watched actual footage of what their water looks like under a microscope. It would make your blood curdle.

I thought of my little niece and nephew drinking it, and how terribly sick they would get. And these kids have no choice but to drink this sludge.

The good news: the lack of clean water around the world is a totally fixable problem. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that can make a huge difference.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
