On Saturday, November 7, from 11-3, I am hoping to raise $5000 with the help of the students, staff, and parents of the Byram Hills School Community. Our Walk for Water will take place at the Byram Hills high School track (in the gym in case of rain).

We will walk 5 miles (about the distance millions of women and children walk every day to fetch water). We are fortunate because we do not have to carry 5 gallons of water (40 pounds!) on our backs like they do. Most of their water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have. They take the chance of catching diseases like bilharzia and schistosomiasis (parasites) - with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change it.

So, what can I do?

My mission is to raise $5000 for water. I want every step to matter. I'm asking for pledges per mile or flat out donations to help achieve my goal.

Because of charity: water's unique model, 100% of all donations go directly to water projects, and each donation is "proved" when projects are complete. I aim to raise $5000 along with the Byram Hills School Community on Saturday, November 7 during our Walk for Water.
