Shhhh... This is a secret -- anyone and everyone can know EXCEPT MY WIFE!

A few years ago, ago my wife, Nikki, mentioned to me that for her 30th birthday, she would like to have a fundraiser event instead of gifts for herself. She mentioned this again one other time, and then once more this past Spring. Each time she brought it up, it was clear she didn’t remember that she told me this in the past.

So, when she brought it up this past Spring, I said, “Sorry. I already have something planned.” She was surprised to hear me say that, but intrigued. Little does she know, I am, in fact, planning a fundraising event. Her sister, Kristen, and I have teamed up to make her birthday wish come true.

We have chosen to raise money for charity: water. Nikki actually raised some money for this amazing organization a few years back and I know she will be thrilled to use her birthday to help raise even more funds. Her birthday is February 13th.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
