As some of you may know, I’m running in the New York City Marathon this coming November, 5. During my past 12 weeks of training, I’ve been doing a lot of reading up on things to do leading up to the race. One thing that really struck me was the idea of raising money for a cause in order to provide some inspiration and help some people in need along the way. A few weeks ago, while deliberating over which charity to run for, there happened to be construction going on outside of my apartment, leaving me without water for a full 10 hours. As I sat in my apartment, trying to figure out “WHAT TO DO???” and “HOW TO FUNCTION WITHOUT WATER????”, I realized how much we can all take CLEAN, RUNNING WATER for granted.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
