We (Max and Laura) are celebrating that time of year when we share the same age for precisely one month! Laura turned 25 on September 19th and Max will remain 25 until October 19th. Earlier this year we were both introduced to the idea of "donating your birthday to charity: water" after listening to a 3 part podcast series on "Suffering" created by the Liturgists podcast. Both of us were struck by the resilience of those that suffer everyday and the relative non-suffering that we experience as part of the richest 1% of the world (even with Max in graduate school!).

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean! We don't think twice about a long hot shower or leaving the faucet running while doing dishes; we even water our plants with clean potable water.

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

We started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and we're looking for anyone who can help us.

Since we are both 25, we are asking that you give just $25 to charity: water to help support them in the work that they do to provide clean water to people without access. Our goal is for 100 people to donate in order to raise $2500 and give clean water access to 83 people.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects! Every cent goes to providing clean water because charity: water has an entire other fundraising campaign to support their overhead. When the projects we fund are complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped!

Even if you feel that you do not have the resources to give $25 at this time, any amount is appreciated and joyfully accepted. Blessings to you and may we help bring clean water to all!
