Hi, it's Micah. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. 663 million people live without access to clean water, and many of them walk 2-4 hours a day to swamps and rivers to gather dirty water for their families. Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war.
43% of those deaths are children under five years old.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save around 16,000 lives every week.There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
About 70% of the earth is covered in water and only 2.5% of it is fresh, also only 1% of that is accessible. So by making wells we can make a that water accessible.

I’ve started this campaign to bring clean water permanently to at least 100 people who don’t have it now, which will take $3500. I will give a portion of the gift money I receive to this effort, and I’d love your help donating directly to my fund, right HERE. I’ve been following Charity:Water ever since my sister Rae did a similar campaign for her Bat Mitzvah project 5 yrs ago– her campaign helped fund a piped water system in the Rulindo District of Rwanda, which now provides water to a village of 220 people.

100% of the money from my campaign will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped. We’ll get real-time updates, so I’ll keep you up to date on the difference we’re making!
