Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Hey guyyyss.
This year. I’m pledging my birthday for clean water.
It’s the celebration of my big 3.0. on Monday, and I could not think of a better way to honor it than to humbly giving back to communities in need.
Rather than receiving anything material, I’m asking my family and friends to help me bring clean water resources to the poorest communities around the world.
Charity: Water
brings clean and safe drinking water to people in need around the world, improving health, education, and opportunity - especially for women and children.
If you know anything about me, you know children are my weakness.
So Why water?
1 in 10 people worldwide live without access to clean water.
The majority of these live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family.
Not only does walking for water keep kids out of school, or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick, specially the little ones.
Access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and kids.
With CHARITY:WATER’s help, nearly 3 million people have been assisted in Africa and Asia’s poorest countries, and over 100k people now enjoy easier access to clean water in Central and South American countries like:
Bolivia (one of the poorest and least-developed countries in south America),
Guatemala (the most populated country in Central America and where over half its population lives in poverty),
Honduras (2nd poorest nation in Central America, with nearly 65% of the population living in poverty)
And Haiti (where 80% of its rural population lacks access to clean water, That’s over 8M people without access to clean water.
But So many more need help. In these countries, and others:
In Dominican Republic: more than a third of the country's population lives in poverty (that’s almost 4million people living on $1.25 a day).
Our countries need our help.
Donate anything from a US$1 to US$30 towards my bday fund and help me bring clean water, health, education, and a better quality of life to those who lack.
