Hey ladies and guys,

It’s me again asking for donations. This year I’m giving up my 32nd birthday (yes I’m that old) for charity: water. Before you say, “wait.. what I gave you a donation last year to you shaving your head..” hear me out.

Yes last year I did a campaign for St Baldrick’s and I shaved my head and donated the hair and funds to some great nonprofits that to this day I strongly believe it.

Charity: water is a different (501)c3 that gives 100% of its fundraising to creating water wells in countries and communities that don’t have access to clean water.

Why is water important? We all read articles on how you should drink x amount of water to be healthy, have clear skin, lead healthy productive lives, but not all places have that luxury. For some it’s a matter of having job, for others it’s a matter of receiving an education, but fundamentally it’s granting access to the same luxury that we have by flipping the faucet lever. I believe everyone should have access to clean water that won’t make them sick or from keeping them to help their families or to better their lives and socioeconomic situations.

By giving up my birthday, I hope that instead of a card or gift you can give any monetary amount to creating a water well for a community that needs it.

“Well Miranda, I wasn’t going to send you anything anyways except for a text or FB post saying happy birthday...” I say just give a dollar to this instead. Every little bit counts and you have access to every dollar you spend on how you actually made a difference.

I’ve done this before and have never truly reached my goal and to this day I can track where the dollars (and others) went and you can too.

Charity: water is very transparent. You can track. Every. Dollar. Spent. There’s no overhead costs, no hidden fees.. nothing. You give and you can see the impact.

I know things are rough but if you can give just a little it goes a long way. I’ve given the first $32 and even if no one gives it will still go towards something tangible.
