Did you know that your body weight is approximately 60 percent water? Your body uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. That's enough of what we already know, what most people don't know is that we are in a water crisis.
663 million people in the world live without clean water.

Facts about the Water Crisis:
Women and children spend 125 million hours each day collecting water around the world.
In Africa and Asia, women and children walk an average of 3.7 miles a day just to collect water.
Every 90 seconds a child dies from a water-related disease.
160 million children suffer from stunting and chronic malnutrition linked to water and sanitation.
Globally, 1/3 of all schools lack access to safe water and sanitation.
Water does more than just quench your thirst and regulate your body's temperature; it provides education, income, health, gender equality, water gives back time, and economic returns. Let me put it this way, we take water for granted, EVERY SINGLE one of us who has a working faucet. We have clean water in our toilet and 633 million people would drink it if they had the chance. Every $1 donated can yield in $4-$12 in economic returns in countries that need it most.

In the past 3 years of donating my birthday, we had raised $4,758 ($38,064 average in economic yields) spreading between the Kompong Sdach Community in Cambodia, Ségou region of Mali, and more recently in Mozambique.

I'm asking for my age in dollars from everyone I know ($28) . Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). We will know the locations and names of the communities we helped and all it takes is a $1.
