We are 8th Graders at Washington Jr High School in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. We are trying to raise money for Charity Water. We got inspired when our school celebrated World Water Day on Wednesday, March 22nd. We learned that many people in the world do not have access to clean water.
We Hope you guys Donate to us and help us reach our goal of $550, if we can reach this much we can give 18 people clean water.
Our class will walk to Lake Michigan to Silver Creek Park. This is 2.3 miles away from our school. When we get to Lake Michigan, we will fill gallon containers with lake water. We will then carry it back to school, to be used for our school garden. We want to experience what it's like in places like Africa, where you have to walk to get water for your family.
Please wish us good luck on, Friday, May 26. When we take our LONG WALK FOR WATER!
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send our class photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
We raised $245 in cash and checks!
I can't believe you carried 5 gallons the ENTIRE way, Ha! Nice work!! I admit that I lost our bet. :)
What a great lesson!
