Ever since my last birthday I have been trying to think of a great way to celebrate the next one. Finally I decided I wanted to use my birthday to give to someone less fortunate. I am very blessed, and I want to pay my blessing forward to the next person.

For a while I could not think of the perfect way to give, until I learned about charity: water! Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world arent' that lucky. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are easy ways to fix it so people can have clean water around the world.

This year, I am pledging my birthday to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me. Even though I love getting gifts, I really want to help people who are less fortunate than I am. What a better gift than to give people clean drinking water! My goal is to raise enough money so at least one person for each year of my life is able to get clean drinking water. If I reach my goal that means 12 people will have cleaner water than they had before!
