Hey everyone! So for my birthday this year I want to do something new/different. Scott Harrison (the founder of charity: water) gave a talk during The Minimalists event that I attended last week and he mentioned this Birthday Pledge for charity: water. The concept is simple: instead of gifts, ask for donations.

I experienced firsthand, very briefly, how difficult it was to live with minimum access to clean water when I was stuck at St. Maarten after Hurricane Irma hit the island. So it's especially heartbreaking knowing that people in some parts of this world have to live in that condition (or worse) on a daily basis.

In the spirit of actually doing something to change that, I'd like to encourage you to participate in my Birthday Pledge by donating to this cause. Your donation of $31 will help bring clean water to one person but anything you can give is a huge help!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
