I love my birthday. I mean really love my birthday. For me the “Raelibration” starts on May 1st and lasts all month — even if I’m the only one celebrating for 30 of those days.
It might surprise you, then, that this year I’m excited about GIVING UP my birthday.
What do I mean by “giving up” my birthday?
I’ll still be celebrating, but instead of gifts, I’m asking friends and family to donate my age in dollars to charity: water, to give clean water to people who desperately need it.
800 million people still live without clean, safe drinking water. Women and children must walk for hours every day to retrieve water — water that's likely to make them sick.
This just doesn’t have to be so.
100% of every dollar you donate will be used to build clean water projects. Charity: water has already provided clean water to over 3 million people in 20 countries.
