25 & Alive!

It's my birthday and I couldn't be more grateful for the life I am able to lead. It's hard to comprehend how much I have taken for granted in my 25 years but I feel as though I'm starting to form some real perspective. So I want to do something that makes a difference to those less fortunate and I'd like your help.

This year I have pledged my Birthday to Charity Water. Check out the video below too see why this is of such importance.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Did you get that? 1,400.. children.. die.. every day..

It doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world. We can make a difference.

I started this fundraising campaign to help Charity Water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.

My goal is to raise at least $2500 NZD. I will match anything up to this amount with my first official paycheck :). Please donate to this campaign -- $25 is a great amount to start with but really, anything you can give is a huge help. If we can raise this money that will be at least 120 people that we give a new lease of life to. That's huge!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity Water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped!

So if ever you appreciated me as a person, liked something that I did in the last 25 years, want to give me a meaningful birthday present or have thought of donating to a worthy cause then please pitch in and make this a campaign worth celebrating.
