Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!
But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
We started this fundraising campaign to help Charity : Water build these types of projects around the world, and we are looking for as much as help as we can get!
While we train for the half-marathon, we each pledge to donate $1 for every mile we run from now until April 30. Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, Charity: Water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Two months ago Trisha and I signed up for our very first half-marathon and started our fundraiser to bring clean water to those in need. We were nervous about completing both, but you all helped us surpass our initial goal 4 times over with a total of $4, 053 - bringing clean water to 135 people! In doing so - you encouraged us to train harder and longer so that we could do our very best on race day! We wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for all of your donations and support.
Please note: It will take a few months before we receive our country update and GPS link to track how all of our donations have helped. We will pass along the update as soon as we hear more!
