Why Sarah Daignault is fundraising for clean water

Hey there you beautiful humans!

As many of you know, 6 years ago for my 23rd birthday, we together raises $646 to fund clean water projects in Sierra Leone. This project helped to give over 100 people access to clean drinking water. The link below shows you all the details for what we were able to accomplish together in just a short time.

As I think about turning 29 in a few weeks, I've really been humbled with how blessed my life has been in the past six years since we last did some good together. Today I am an aunt for the EIGHTH time and I cannot stop thinking about how special those little ones are and how I'm thankful they get to grow up in such wonderful homes with people that are able to give them the world.

Not everyone has that same luck across the globe. It's an absolute shame. Suzanne and Kate and Doug and Matt are my brothers and sisters, but the People in Africa, in Asia, in South America are mine and your brothers and sisters, too.

I don't expect or want anything for my birthday. A celebration to me would be knowing someone received one of the basic necessities of life that I take for granted on a daily basis and sometimes even waste. I don't want you to feel obligated and think this is a gift to me. It's surely not. I want to be the catalyst that gets your mind thinking about how damn easy it is to change someone's life. Because it really is.

Since I'm turning 29, I want to collectively raise enough money to provide 29 people with clean drinking water ( then they will pool our money with other projects so we can help an entire community). Just like last time I will share the results of what community our money went to.

Many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty. We have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I hope you'll share in my passion.

Please donate to my campaign -- anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.

Truly 100% of your donation is used. They have big donors that's cover their overhead cost so that our donations don't have to. What a beautiful thing.

With so much love,
Sarah Daignault
