The man in my profile picture with me is Scott Harrison, the Founder of Charity: Water. I had the amazing opportunity to meet him. His story about his passion for this mission inspired me!

On October 9th, I'm turning 30. I was planning a huge over the top 80's party . But then I found out that millions of people don't live to see their fifth birthdays. And why? Because they don't have access to clean, safe water. I decided to give up my birthday to help get a few people clean water. I've already donated what I was going to spend on hosting my party at Drinks for Drinks. Now I'm asking my friends and family to give instead of give gifts.

So I'm not scared of turning 30 anymore. In fact, I'm celebrating my birthday like never before.

I'm asking for $30 or ANYTHING REALLY from everyone I know -- and every penny of the money raised will go directly to fund clean water projects in developing nations. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll be able to see the communities we've helped!

My goal is to raise $1000 by my birthday, October 9th.

Please join me to make this birthday count.

(my original goal was $500 but I upped it)
