Why Water?
Donating to give clean water is perhaps the single most powerful tool for sparking economic growth that humanity has ever known. That is one powerful donation. Your money doesn't just create a project to provide clean water, you are investing in the lives of people: their health, education, and opportunity.
Why charity: water?
A few years ago, I listened to a podcast with charity: water's founder, Scott Harrison. His optimistic attitude and passion prompted me right away to check out their website. I didn't donate at the time but it has stayed with me for now more than 2 years. Finally, I decided I'd had enough. I needed to do something. I took the leap and started this campaign. Together we can eradicate this crisis once and for all. The solutions to provide clean water are already in place, all that is required is capital. While the problem may seem insurmountable, look at it this way, "it would take ⅓ of what the world spends on bottled water in one year to pay for projects providing water to everyone in need" (blueplanetnetwork.org). With this statistic in mind, lets cut down on our bottled water usage and direct those funds towards saving lives!
If you've made it this far and are still on the edge, the largest donor will receive a parade to the restaurant of their choice for lunch in a decked out wagon pulled by yours truly. If you do not live in Albuquerque and are the largest donor, don't worry, I'm sure we can figure out something to demonstrate the enormity of my appreciation for your generosity.
