As my 24th year on Mother Earth approaches, I'm lucky to say I have what I need to survive, and much more.
.
Unfortunately, and quite realistically, many don't. 663 million to be exact. That's how many people go without clean water and sanitation in their lives. Around 1400 children die every day from diseases caused by unsanitary water conditions.
.
That's 2x the amount of people in America.
That's 1 in 10 people world wide.
These are people who didn't choose to be born in a place where clean water is not accessible. I experienced this in Africa this summer when the preschools didn't even have access to running water. I take it so much for granted and need to change.
.
Charity Water donates 100% of the money raised clean water projects like
-Freshwater wells
-Rainwater catchments and
-BioSand filters
.
$30 can provide clean water for 1 person.
.
I have a small goal of $300 to help at least 10 people by my birthday. The smallest amount still goes the longest way.
.
If you're more interested in helping locally, the food bank is always accepting food donations and has an updated list on their website of items they need.
.
The Stafford Animal Shelter also is always accepting donations as well and we just donated several new dog beds and a box of bones for the pups that was much appreciated.
