Water changes everything!

Would you believe that diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war?? What’s more, 43% of those deaths are children under five years old. Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save around 16,000 lives every week!

Clean water helps keep kids in school, especially girls. Less time collecting water means more time in class. Clean water and proper toilets at school means teenage girls don’t have to stay at home for a week out of every month.

Donations to Charity:Water provides those in need with wells, piped systems, BioSand Filters, rainwater harvesting systems, sanitation/hygiene training, as well as local water committees to help sustain these solutions going forward.

Since January 11th is my 44th birthday, my goal is to raise $1,570 which will provide 44 people with access to clean water through the Charity:Water organization. I’m asking you to join me in making a small positive impact in the world. In 44 years I’ve never truly wanted for much. God has blessed me with easy access to nearly everything I need, certainly including clean, fresh water. I don’t “need” anything for my birthday. But others truly NEED the gift of fresh water. Let’s pivot my birthday toward a noble cause. I’ll personally match all donations made to my campaign during the month of January. Let’s see what we can do together!

Consider this… If you normally send me a birthday card, why not instead donate that $5 ($5.50, including the cost of postage!) to Charity:Water? I’ll still see and appreciate your birthday wishes on my campaign webpage, but now $11 will also go toward changing lives!

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
