663 million people in the world do not have access to clean and safe drinking water. Women and children usually bear the burden of walking miles with jerry cans to the nearest source.
charity: water’s September Campaign is all about people doing crazy things to raise money for clean water. My “crazy thing” is to carry a jerry can to work EVERY DAY in September, filling it with water for each donation received.
Here’s the facts:
- Jerry Can holds 5 gallons of water
- Weighs ~40 lbs full
- I live ~1 mile from work (15 minute walk)
- Each $200 donation increment, I’ll fill the jerry can with 1 gallon of water until I reach my $1,000 goal!
- 100% of what you donate funds water projects
-There's a match pool, so every dollar you donate doubles!....until that pool runs out...so HuRrY!
I’ve never done a water walk…..and I’ve heard it’s not easy! Help me reach my goal quickly and raise money for clean water!
