Have you ever said, "I'm dying of thirst?" If so, we bet you didn't really mean it.

If you're like us, you don't spend too much time thinking about water -- it's everywhere we go. When we're thirsty, we flip a handle or push a button. When we're dirty, we twist a shower knob. When our garden needs watering, when our pasta needs to be boiled, when we use the bathroom -- water is just an arm’s length away.

But, in many developing countries, women and children walk for hours, up and down mountains, just to collect water that can make them really sick. In India, access to clean water is enabling communities to eliminate the caste system in rural villages and stimulating economic growth.

As student affairs professionals, we often focus on social change on our campuses... but we work with some of the most privileged people in the world: college students. Only 7% of the world's 7 billion people have a college degree (http://www.100people.org/statistics_100stats.php). This September, let's take our efforts to the global level. Let's make an impact in India.
