My birthday is almost here. I'm not usually excited about getting older, but this year I'm really thankful we all lived another happy, healthy year. I recently met the CEO of Charity:Water at Google and his story was super inspirational. The punchline is that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. So I decided to "donate my birthday" to building a well, which costs $4000. I've asked for no gifts, but I know many people will bring things like bottles of wine anyway. No need to donate, but if you were going to bring something anyway, please just donate here instead. Since I'm turning 40, the suggested amount is the number of years in my birthday, but no pressure, $5 is fine, $0 is fine. Every penny goes straight to building the well, none goes to the organization.

The other cool thing is that Charity: Water will show us on Google Maps exactly which well we built once it has been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
