Asslamu Alaikum Wa Rahamtu Allah Wa Barakatuh,

During Ramadan, we get an idea as to what it's like to be thirsty. AlhamduliAllah, we have plenty of water to drink -- even the water in our toilets is clean!

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm asking my brothers and sisters to donate to help bring clean water to 100 people who don't have access to it. And what better time to give than in these last ten blessed days of Ramadan.

Sa’d ibn Ubadah reported: I said,
“O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?”
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.”
I said, “Which charity is best?”
The Prophet said, “A drink of water.”
