The community at Rollins College is committed to raise 1,000 dollars by the end of the semester to help bring clean water to a community that's in need. We would be over our goal if every student and faculty at Rollins donated just 3 dollars.

Many of us don't think of the easy access that we have to fresh clean water everyday, yet it's essential to the way that we live our lives. Our goal is to give back lives to the woman who spend 40 billion hours to walk to get water for their families to survive, so that they can commit more time to economic growth in their community and to spending time with their family.

Many of us have a strong stance against war and violence, yet more people on this earth die from diseases causes by dirty water than all forms of violence combined. This problem is solvable and we know how to fix it. Access to clean water globally would save a million lives per year.

Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
