Coffee and water always go hand in hand, especially when we want to brew a cup of delicious cup. We are blessed with easy access to clean water. Water is just an arm's length away and sometimes, we forget how precious clean and safe drinking water can be. However, not everyone is as fortunate as us. There are remote places in the world where clean water is not readily available. Women and children walk hours to get water and children fall sick because of drinking contaminated water.

As we look forward to a day of anniversary celebration on 1 May, we would like to take a moment to highlight the charity that we have been working with over the years. Through @charitywater, we have managed to to help someone less fortunate in some parts of the world to gain access to clean water. We appreciate the transparency of how this charitable organisation runs its water projects so we know where our donations go to.

Over the past 5 years, we have raised over US$24,225 that went towards 100% funding of projects around the world. This year is no exception, as we will be putting aside all the proceeds from the coffee drinks sales towards the cause. We are incredibly grateful to our friends and neighbours who are joining us in this year’s Nylon Community Market by pledging their sales for the day to the same cause.

So help us to spread the word, and come down on 1 May to have a coffee or 2, and grab a slice of cake, ang ku kueh or even book a haircut appointment. We believe in a future where everyone has clean and safe drinking water. Your contribution makes a difference -- anything you can give is a huge help.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
