I've been around and drinking clean water for 25 years. Even the one time I got sick on the water in another country, I had access to clean water. I was just dumb enough to run my toothbrush under the faucet.

I'm grateful for access to clean water and for 25 years of life (as of March 3). And my favorite recent birthdays have been when friends rally around me to give clean water!

It's the MOST FUN because:
- clean water means more kids get to stay in school, not having to spend time walking to get dirty water AND not being sick off of that water
- clean water means fewer water-borne diseases AND better hygiene
- clean water means revitalized communities, where people have access to something they can drink and wash their hands with
- CLEAN WATER CHANGES LIVES!

Why charity:water?

The number one reason people don't give to charities is because they don't know where the money goes.

Makes sense - you want to make a difference and be sure that the people saying they're doing that are stewarding the funds well.

charity:water uses 100% of donated funds to send straight to clean water projects.
Not only that, but I get email updates WITH pictures and GPS coordinates of the wells that are being built.

They've got the technology, the passion, and the drive to keep working for clean water until everyone has access. I'm in!

My husband (husband! I have one of those now!) and I are going to cover a song every $1k we raise. And trust me, it will be worth it. And there may be some surprises in store.
