I hope to be fortunate enough to turn 50 this year. (Things happen but I'm feeling pretty good about my chances.) I began this campaign earlier in the year with a very audacious goal. And then I rethought it – because, you may have noticed, there are some pressing issues in this country and I thought it best to not divert funds.
So far, lovely friends have contributed $720, which funds water for more than two dozen people! [ My "Aw, you guys!" thanks to Alison, Brian, Bruce, Charlie, Dave, David, Elicia, Ed, Jay, Linda, Mark, and Steve for their contributions in Q1 and Q2! ] charity: water closes fundraisers each quarter, which is why I've reupped this campaign for the final quarter of the year, the one that contains my birthday.

I would be so moved if you would help me celebrate this milestone by helping others to have sustained access to clean water. It's literally elemental. Clean water prevents diseases. Access to water frees up time for education and work and play. Be it $5 or $50 or $500 or more or any amount in between, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving of yourself. And now, here are some words from the fine folks at charity: water — Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
