I turned 50! Woo hoo! Fundraising shall continue through the remainder of the year!
I hope to be fortunate enough to turn 50 this year. (Things happen but I'm feeling pretty good about my chances.) I began this campaign earlier in the year with a very audacious goal. And then I rethought it – because, you may have noticed, there are some pressing issues in this country and I thought it best to not divert funds.
So I've decided to work incrementally. My near-term goal is to raise another $780, which, combined with the $720 lovely friends have contributed thus far, will fund water for 50 people! $30 funds water for one person.

Good-to-know fact: 100% of contributions go toward bringing water to those in need. So know that your dollars are going into the field, not into overhead. Also, if you're wondering, charity: water closes fundraisers each quarter, which is why I've reupped this campaign for the final quarter of the year, the one that contains my birthday.
I would be so moved if you would help me celebrate this milestone by helping others to have sustained access to clean water. It's literally elemental. Clean water prevents diseases. Access to water frees up time for education and work and play. Be it $5 or $50 or $500 or more or any amount in between, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving of yourself. And now, here are some words from the fine folks at charity: water — Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.
100% of the money will be used to build clean water projects, and when they’re complete, charity: water will send us photos and GPS coordinates so we can see the exact community we helped.
Spring
I began this year and the first of these campaigns with a contribution to get things started so it feels only right to wrap up the year and my $1,500 goal – 50 people getting water! – on the last day of the year. Big, big thanks to all who contributed!!!
