It's an old song, but I'm catching up with its age. :-)
It's time, again, for that annual reminder that time, although a human construct, does march on and once again, I am pledging my birthday to charity:water. Over the past few years you and I have raised over $1,500 dollars and provided clean, life-giving water to 50 people. I like to think there's someone in one of those villages, maybe a teenager, who while being grateful, is also cursing my name, for now they have to do laundry.

All kidding aside, many of us have no idea what it's like to be thirsty or to not be able to wash your child's face, let alone watch preventable diseases rob your child's life, all for want of clean water. We have plenty of water to drink, to wash, to clean, to live.

But many people around the world don’t have that luxury. Every day, about 1,400 children die from diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation. But it doesn’t have to be that way. There are simple solutions like drilled wells, spring protections and BioSand filters that help provide clean water to communities around the world.

I started this fundraising campaign to help charity: water build these types of projects around the world, and I'm looking for anyone who can help me.
