Water. . . We dive into it, float on it, and relax by it. We wash our cars, our bodies, and our clothes with it. We have ice cubes, ice skating, ice sculptures, and even ice lounges. We DRINK all the clean refreshing water we want, and we don't think twice about it.
Not everyone has this luxury. Did you know that 1 in 8 of us doesn't have access to clean drinking water? Kids hike for miles for water that comes from mud holes filled with disease, and it is killing them.
So here I go again. . . Last year I almost met my goal of raising enough to build 1/2 of a well, but this year I want to raise enough to build an entire well and I need your help! This month I am turning 50, and instead of gifts, I am shamelessly asking everyone I know to contribute to Charity:Water to help those in need. Please give what you can- $5.00, or $50 or anything else will make a difference! And 100% of your contribution goes directly to building wells!
