In celebration of Sofia Dale Clark's fourth birthday on Sept. 27, please consider making a donation that will help bring clean drinking water to third world communities in need. As it stands almost a billion people live without access to clean drinking water - that most basic of human rights - forced instead to rely on muddy cow ponds, polluted rivers, swamps, and the like, and even then it might be a journey of several miles to and from the tainted water source. Thousands of children no older than Sofia die every day because of water-related illnesses. I hope we can all agree that this is unacceptable and take this tiny opportunity to do something. In time I'm sure Sofia will learn to appreciate and take pride in knowing that because of her - in celebration of her life - there has been this reverberating, positive effect on the world.
