I am turning 25 on January 23rd. For my birthday, I ask you to join my annual birthday campaign to raise 500 dollars to provide reliable, regular access to fresh water to underprivileged communities.
Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence. Every day, 1,400 children under the age of five die from water-related illnesses. Giving more children access to clean water means far more to me than cakes, cards, and champaign.
The donations will go to charity: water, an NGO dedicated to increasing access to clean water in underprivileged countries. Every dollar will be used for water projects, not NGO overhead costs.
