I'm turning 23 on January 23rd. For this birthday I ask you to join me for a special cause.
Around 800 million people in the world live without access to clean water; that's 1 in 9 of us. More people die from a lack of clean water and hygiene each year than are killed from all forms of violence, including war.
So this year instead of giving me cupcakes, birthday cards, starbucks gift cards and flowers, I ask you to donate to mycharity:water, an NGO dedicated to increasing access to fresh water. My goal is to raise 460 dollars, enough money to give 23 people reliable, regular access to fresh water.
