I am turning 29 this January. For my birthday, I ask you to join my seventh annual birthday campaign to raise 500 dollars to spread the gift of clean water to underprivileged communities.

Globally, at least 2 billion people use a drinking water source contaminated with faeces. Estimated 16,000 people die each week from largely preventable diseases rising as a result of unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation. Unsafe water claims more lives each year than any and all forms of violence, including war.

The donations will go to charity:water, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. Donations from previous birthday campaigns were sent to Ethiopia (2013), Kenya (2014), Mali (2015), Uganda (2016), Mali (2017), and Mozambique (2018).
